I’ll just never understand how we, as brothers and sisters traveling through this life, justify treating anyone with anything other than love and respect. The utter disdain we have for others based on religion, race, nationality, economic situation or whatever makes us all beautifully different is impossible for me to understand.

While I don’t understand the tenants of all faiths, in my heart I know that there are no true belief systems that condone hatred for others based on who they are and where they’re from. Our lack of acceptance of others is driven by our longing to find what’s missing in our life and the fruitless search for it outside of where we should be looking; within ourselves.

To quote Lao Tzu, “Simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being. Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.”

For those of you who do pray, please pray for peace; pray for fulfillment and pray for others to find true peace through acceptance of that which surrounds us.

For this of you who don’t pray, please be kind, share your love and live life like a dreamer …

 Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine – John Lennon
