There’s so much trouble in this world we live in.  So much trouble at home and abroad.   Trouble in the worlds cities, suburbs and rural areas.  So much trouble and I believe that it can be traced back to the ego and disillusionment that any man possesses the answers to the worlds ills.

We see organized religions around the world preaching their beliefs are the only path to eternal life; we see politicians enacting law to protect the rights of some while damaging the rights of others; we see capitalistic forces driving monetary policy that further creates divides between the haves and have-nots.

They say that money is the root of all evil but I believe its more complex.  I say that ego is the root of all evil.

If it was money, the solution would be simpler.   Ego implies more.  Ego implies that there isn’t an easy answer because each person’s ego is stroked in a different way.  Some people want money; some people want fame.  Some people want power, some people want legacy.  Understanding these egotistical nuances in each of us is virtually impossible.  I suppose that’s what makes us human and that’s what makes us fallible…

So, what made me go off on that rant?  Partially, Indiana’s Governor signing in a law today that is widely unpopular and I feel is discriminatory, partially the continued war in the Middle East all in the name of God and partially this tune which has roots to me needing spring to be here (reggae is usually how I prepare for spring)!

So here’s today’s reflection on love, hate, peace and war …

So much trouble in the world
So much trouble in the world

Bless my eyes this morning
Jah sun is on the rise once again
The way earthly thin’s are goin’
Anything can happen.

You see men sailing on their ego trip,
Blast off on their spaceship,
Million miles from reality:
No care for you, no care for me.

So much trouble in the world;
So much trouble in the world.
All you got to do: give a little (give a little),
Give a little (give a little), give a little (give a little)!
One more time, ye-ah! (give a little) Ye-ah! (give a little)
Ye-ah! (give a little) Yeah!

So you think you’ve found the solution,
But it’s just another illusion!
(So before you check out this tide),
Don’t leave another cornerstone
Standing there behind, eh-eh-eh-eh!
We’ve got to face the day;
(Ooh) Ooh-wee, come what may:
We the street people talkin’,
Yeah, we the people strugglin’.

Now they sitting on a time bomb; (Bomb-bomb-bomb! Bomb-bomb-bomb!)
Now I know the time has come: (Bomb-bomb-bomb! Bomb-bomb-bomb!)
What goes on up is coming on down, (Bomb-bomb-bomb! Bomb-bomb-bomb!)
Goes around and comes around. (Bomb-bomb-bomb! Bomb-bomb-bomb!)

So much trouble in the world;
So much trouble in the world;
So much trouble in the world.
There is so much trouble (so much trouble in the world);
There is so much trouble;
There is so much trouble (so much in the world);
There is so much trouble;
There is so much trouble in the world (so much trouble in the world);
There is (so much in the world);
(So much trouble in the world)
