As I’m sure I’ve mentioned several times, certain CDs will hibernate in CD player in my car for weeks at a time playing over and over and over.  The disc will remain there until the album is fully explored and I start to need something new to shuttle me between home, work and errands. This tune comes from the latest album to occupy my CD player which has been there for the past three weeks (although I must admit to a 30 minute transgression last week but, after realizing the error of my ways, I quickly returned it to its rightful place).

On Thursday, I realized that this album has also started to occupy my brain.   As I woke in the predawn hours, this song was playing in my head between the alarm clock snoozes.  Each time I hit the snooze button, this synth laden song filled the ensuing 9 minutes before the next reminder to awake.

My very unscientific research has concluded that listening to the same CD repeatedly creates new neural pathways based on audio conditioning and temporarily influences the blue space where music resides.  It’s just a theory right now but, as I celebrate my latest musically intelligence and continue to test my theories, I invite you to enjoy a little French new wave synthpop and solid Salome reference with me …

They said that you don’t
You promised too well
I’m calling my number
To sort out the thrill

Almost, almost, almost the real thing
How could I have missed that one?
How could I have missed it?

Am I the only one?
Your Lancelot
Twenty-year-old and bored
Run for a better future

Pour lava in the ocean
Drown in the throne that you sit on
Follow, follow, follow me

Holy father and son
It’s odd enough for you to live on
So long, so long Salomé

Tell me that’s what you wanted
Follow, follow me
Follow me
Follow, follow me
Follow me

You’re more than I want
I figured you will
Back in September
We’ll make it a deal

Almost, almost, almost the real thing
How could I have missed that one?
How could I have missed it?

Am I the only one?
Your Lancelot
Twenty-year-old and bored
Run for a better future

Pour lava in the ocean
Turn the eternal carousel on
Follow, follow, follow me

Holy father and son
It’s odd enough for you to live on
So long, so long Salomé

Tell me that’s what you wanted
Follow, follow me
Follow

Follow, follow me
Follow me
Follow, follow me
Follow me
